Mrs. Alice Valera Davis

Alice Valera Davis, 80, of Bartlesville, died Monday in Nowata, OK. Alice was born the daughter of JW and May Bell (Morris) Crittendon on August 2, 1934, in Wetumka, OK. The family worked on the pipelines and moved frequently to follow the work. Alice graduated from high school in Great Bend, KS, one of the many places her family lived at for a time. She was living back in Wetumka when she met her husband-to-be Dean Puckett who also worked on the pipelines. They were united in marriage on June 21, 1953, in Minnesota, and three children were born to this marriage in various Midwestern states. After 25 years of marriage, Dean preceded her in death at a young age. Alice returned to her family’s hometown in Wetumka and soon met Joe Davis who was cooking at her father’s family restaurant. They were married in 1985 and enjoyed 17 years together. Joe preceded her in death in 2002. She then moved to Bartlesville to be closer to her daughters. Alice was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and loved to volunteer her time in church ministry. She was an artist and portrayed the Rocky Mountains in most of her paintings and she was inspired by the trips she enjoyed to or across those mountains. Alice also loved sewing, quilting, watching birds, and playing Bunco with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed. Alice is survived by her three daughters, Ramona Puckett of Nowata, Dianna Turner and Brad of Bartlesville, and Jody Bentley and Paul of Nowata; six grandchildren, Crystal Kasey and Joel, Holly Jones and Lee Boyd, Travis Turner and Jennifer, Robert McFadden, Harley Waggoner and Bettie, and Melody Waggoner, nine great grandchildren, Harrison Kasey, Jackson Kasey, Garrett Blum, Gentry Blum, Corbin Turner, Cadence McFadden, Justice McFadden, Kelso Waggoner and Broklyn Waggoner and grandson-in-law Jacob Blum. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Dean and Joe, one granddaughter Bobbi Blum and granddaughter in law Tiffany McFadden. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wed., December 3, 2014, at Dewey Church of Christ with Mr. Tony Lalli officiating.
