Angela Irene Harroun

Angela Irene Harroun, 71, of Bartlesville, entered the gates of heaven with praise on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Angie was born March 20, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Perry Franklin Doty Sr. and Rachel Elsie (Banks) Doty. She graduated from Swanton (Ohio) High School in 1972 and then attended Owens College and later West Nevada College, graduating in 1991 with an associate’s degree in criminal justice. Angie was a hard-working mother and supported herself and two daughters as a housekeeper while also taking college classes. She had also worked as a cook at a restaurant in Swanton, Ohio. Angie and her soulmate Richard Charles Harroun originally met in 1978, but it was not until 1988 when the couple went on their first date. They married after only one date and gained their happily ever after. They were married in a small wedding chapel in Reno, Nevada, and the officiant was quite a character. The couple made their home in Fallon, Nevada, where Rick was stationed in the Navy. In 1991, they moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where Rick was stationed for three years. He said Angie had the toughest job on earth, being the wife of a Navy man, a mother, paying the bills and keeping house. She also used her college education by becoming a Virginia Beach deputy sheriff. In 1994, Rick was transferred to Guam. Angie’s youngest child was born after they were medevaced to Hawaii. Rick retired in 1996 in Meridian, Mississippi. Coincidentally, Rick’s sister also retired from the Navy at the exact time and location. Rick had served in the Navy for 22 years. The family moved to Claremore, Oklahoma, where they lived until 2006, when they moved to their beloved 10 acres of land where they built their home. It was their piece of paradise that they loved. After moving to Bartlesville, they found a home church in Truth Church. Angie was so giving with her time and was always baking items to raise funds and donate to the church. Angie had been baptized in the late 1970s, and Rick was baptized while in Guam. Angie loved reading the Bible and was devoted to God, her husband, and her family. Angie is survived by her loving husband, Rick; four children, David Eugene Cook and wife Dawn, Rachel Elena Ritter and husband Philip, Ruth Elizabeth Turner and husband Daniel, and Matthew Jonathan Harroun; one sister, Anita June Doty; eight grandchildren, Brayann Cook, Landon Cook, Taylor Cook, Ethan Ritter, Gentry Ritter, Sarah Yarborough, Jessica Yarborough, and Jaxson Turner; three great-grandchildren, Dominic Cook, Payton Fosnight, and Nova Ann Fosnight. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Rachel Doty; her stepmother, Leota Doty; her twin brother, David Doty; two brothers, Thomas Joseph Doty and Perry Franklin Doty Jr.; a sister, Athacandice “Candi” Mae Osterhoat; and two grandchildren, Zachary Turner and Jayden Harroun. Angie’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665. A come and go visitation will also be held from 12-8 p.m. on that same day. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Truth Church in Bartlesville with Pastor Brian Fuller officiating.
