Mrs. Bertha Jean Olson

Bertha Jean Olson, 70, of Bartlesville, died Tuesday in Dewey. Bertha was born January 2, 1944, to Chris and Mildred (Cummins) Tuttle in Brentwood, CA. After her family moved to Dewey, Bertha attended Dewey schools and while still in school, worked a school cafeteria job that later was passed on to her sister. Bertha was united in marriage with Billy Dale Olson on April 5, 1963, in Miami, OK. They made their home in Dewey before moving to Nevada for a short while before moving back to Dewey and then settling in Ochelata. Bertha worked many years at the Skyline Trailer Factory in Dewey, before starting her career as a machinist with Superior Welding and retiring in 1990. Billy preceded her in death on June 25, 2013. Bertha and Billy loved to do many things together as a couple and as a family. Brandon remembers the early morning fishing trips which required waking up in the middle of the night to get to the best fishing spots and the home baked goodies Bertha prepared for their adventures. They loved rodeo and barrel racing, and once she started working at Superior they joined the company bowling team. Bertha loved her family and she especially enjoyed showing her love through opportunities to cook for large family gatherings. For her, it was a labor or outpouring of love. She will be dearly missed. Bertha is survived by one son Brandon Olson and his wife Metasha of Dewey; five grandchildren Daelynn, Trevor, Israel, Jerrica and Sage, all of Dewey; as well as two brothers Dee Tuttle of Grand Lake, and John Tuttle of Copan; three sisters Bonnie Bates of Bartlesville, Delora Snook and James of Copan, and Ruby Ellis and Chuck of Dewey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Billy Dale Olson Jr., and three brothers Earl Tuttle, Adam Tuttle and Gene Tuttle. The family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, (918-534-3030), 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for Bertha’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com. Memorial services for Mrs. Olson will be held 2pm on Tuesday December 30th at the Westside Baptist Church in Bartlesville.
