David McKinley Marshall

David McKinley Marshall, 56, a lifelong resident of Dewey and Bartlesville, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. David was born December 27, 1969, in Bartlesville, to Vernell and Elizabeth “Minnie” (Vinson) Marshall. He attended Dewey schools until he graduated with the Dewey High School Class of 1988. He then attended the University of Oklahoma, where he studied engineering. He played basketball and was in the high school band. David had two brothers who he loved and helped his mom take care of. He grew up in his home with his mom, two brothers, one sister, and a foster brother. David and Debra met through an online dating app. They were friends for one year before they met in person for their first date on July 10, 2011. Debra lived in Pryor and David in Bartlesville, so they met half-way in Tulsa. The couple were married on November 10, 2018. David’s first job was while he was in high school and he worked at Taco Bell. He came home from OU to help his mother with his brothers. He then worked at Phillips Hotel. David left there to work at Oilfield Piping in Dewey from July 1998 until his passing for a total of 27 years and 8 months. David was loved by his boss and coworkers. David was a Christian and a member of CCC. He enjoyed helping at My Refuge during their Halloween activities. Though David had no children of his own, he was “uncle” to many friends’ children, and with Debra he gained a full family and delighted in being the greatest Grampy. David loved watching and attending sports games. The couple attended TU games, OU games, Thunder games, and Tulsa Oilers. David did not miss a Kansas City Chiefs game on television unless there was something urgent stopping him. He watched NFL and NBA games weekly. David loved his grandchildren and was proud of all of their accomplishments. He gladly attended their games and sports activities. David and Debra loved to travel. The ocean was their happy place. They’ve traveled to Nebraska, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas. They explored the Bahamas on their honeymoon. David enjoyed Renaissance Festivals. He and Debra attended them all over Oklahoma. He enjoyed ballet and opera at Tulsa Performing Arts Center. David and Debra enjoyed watching true crime shows, and David especially liked a YouTube personality from the UK. David is survived by his beloved wife, Debra “Deb” Marshall; three stepchildren, Damon Miller, Randy Miller (Nicole Carmen), and Cheyenne Koenig-Loyd (Jesse Smith); two brothers, Calvin Marshall and Spencer Marshall; half-sister, Marilyn Marshall; nine grandchildren, Tristan Miller, Austin Miller, Emmary Miller, Ethan Miller, Eian Miller, Erika Miller, Madison Ponder, Journey Koenig-Loyd, and Wyatt Smith. David’s family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665. Come and go visitation will be from noon-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel with Pastor Jason Petermann and Pastor Ken Peace officiating.
