David Joe Reece

David Joe Reece, 56, of Bartlesville, died Monday in Bartlesville. He had fought courageously. David was born the son of Franklin JoDean and Sandra (Mitchell) Reece on July 12, 1964 in Arkansas City, KS. At age 15 David bought and flipped his first car. He loved motorcycles, cars and trucks which became a lifelong passion. Once he was finished with school David moved down to Louisiana where his father lived, and David fudged his age to get a job on an offshore drilling rig in the Gulf. Eventually David decided to further his education and became a heavy equipment diesel mechanic. He worked in various industries, maintaining heavy diesel equipment. Most recently, he worked at Consolidated Oil Field Services. While working in Fairland, OK, David was introduced to Ronna (Blizzard) Heatherly by mutual friends. It was love at first sight - they were a perfect fit – and they tied the love knot on April 10, 2010, blending both of their families together. David and Ronna did everything together: riding motorcycles, camping, playing at the casino, and enjoying the many friends they made along the way. They also enjoyed large family get-togethers. David was the life of the party - he was wild and funny, always positive, and ready to tell a joke. Even when he was feeling under the weather, David made it a priority to dote on Ronna and show her how special she was to him. David is survived by his loving wife Ronna; eight children, Joe Reece and Casara, Michael Reece and Missouri, Ryan Yelton, Sam Reece and Breanna, Alisa Sieloff and Michael, Desirae Heatherly, Lynnea Sheriff and Said, and Angela DeJean; step mother Alberta Babb; brothers Mike Sweaney and Colleen, and Monty Potter, sister Connie Ally and Billy; 13 grandchildren, Gracelyn, John Michael, Aries, Tristan, Grayson, Amber, Madison, Brooklyn, Delanie, Aliyyah, Tirney, Ashton and Aviery; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Gary Reece and Ricky Potter, sister Sheryl Potter and granddaughter Brooke Capps. Visitation will be held on Friday from Noon-8 and Saturday 9-12 at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
