Deborah Richardson

Deborah Oleta Richardson, 66, of Dewey, died Thursday in Bartlesville. Deborah was born the daughter of Jackie T. and Linda L. (Smith) Colberg in Burtonwood, England, on April 27, 1954. Her father was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force, and later the family moved stateside to Colorado and Kansas. Deborah fondly remembered riding her horses in Colorado named Cowboy and Champ, her favorite. Deborah graduated from Lyons High school with the Class of 1972. She moved to Salina, OK, before moving to Bartlesville in 1986, then to Bella Vista, AR, she returned to Bartlesville after her husband Henry Richardson preceded her in death. For the past several years she and partner Howard McGuire have enjoyed each other’s company. Deborah loved doing arts and crafts including sewing, ceramics and painting. Together Howard and Deborah planted a garden and canned many of the vegetables they grew themselves. They liked catching up with friends while eating breakfast at Boulevard Diner. Deborah loved to travel; many memorable trips were taken with her mother all over the United States. She especially loved the Bahamas, which she went together with her daughter Melissa. Deborah is survived by her daughter Melissa Sutterfield of Bartlesville; partner Howard McGuire of Dewey; two grandchildren Blake and Wyatt Sutterfield; two brothers, Jackie T. Colberg Jr., and Ron Colberg and Carolyne; sister Vicki Lessert and Chuck; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry and sister Kathy Northcut. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, from 10-8 at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, OK. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Journey Home, 900 NE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, with Rev. Chad Perceful officiating.
