Debra Jean Ainesworth

Debra Jean Ainesworth, 73, of Bartlesville, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Bartlesville. Debra was born the daughter of George and Lucille (Vanbeber) Hamil on December 10, 1950, in Nowata, OK. She and her five siblings were raised in Watova. Debra met and fell in love with James Ainesworth. The young sweethearts married and went on to have seven children. They made their home in the Bartlesville/Nowata area and settled close to the county line on Highway 60. While her children were in school Debra was a stay-at-home mom, but after her children were older, she started working at Murphy’s Steak House, where she worked for 12 years. She then earned her GED and attended CMA training. Debra then went to work at Bartlesville Care Center for many years before retiring. Debra and James enjoyed 48 loving years together before his passing in 2014. The couple enjoyed Bingo, fishing, and music. Every Monday and Friday night was Bingo at the Eagles Lodge, not just playing Bingo, but socializing and having fun. Their children remember anytime you visited Debra and James’ house, music was playing, even if the TV was on, as well. During the week the couple listened to James’s favorite old time country, and on the weekends they played her favorite ‘50s rock and roll. Debra was an amazing grandmother to her 24 grandchildren. Many happy moments were spent in her home playing games like Yahtzee or arts and crafts in her specially built craft room. In recent years she indulged her passion for new babies or recently born great-grandbabies. At last count was at 21. Holding them in her arms brought her great joy. In her free time she enjoyed reading, sewing and word search puzzle books. Most of all she loved everyone around her, and they loved her back. We will miss you, Mom! Debra is survived by her children, Jeanie (Dale) Graham, Robert (Tammie) Ainesworth, Mary Ainesworth, Brenda (Dennis Newsome) Ainesworth, James (Sandy) Ainesworth and Peggy (Aric Inglett) Ainesworth; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Marvin Ray; siblings, Mary, Doris, Jimmy, Junior, and Dorothy; grandchildren, Cody Young and Courtney Ellis. Debra’s family will receive friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6-8 p.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10-8 and Friday 10-1. Services will be held on Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Wickham officiating. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
