Evelyn May Keever

Surrounded by her loved ones, Evelyn May Keever passed away shortly after 2:11 p.m. on August 20, 2021, following a difficult battle with COVID-19. She was 63 and will be deeply missed by her husband, daughter, grandsons, sisters, extended and adopted family. On December 15, 1957, in Guymon, Oklahoma’s panhandle, Evelyn became the firstborn child of Kenneth and LaDean Dotson-Turner. She was described as a bundle of joy, love and laughter - traits that Evelyn would model for the rest of her life and bless others with her beautiful heart and genuine friendship. Evelyn had three siblings: Loretta Brooke, Janette Bright and Kenneth Turner Jr. They were raised in Tyrone, Oklahoma, until the girls got married and moved away. Evelyn met and married David Keever in 1974. Together, they enjoyed 47 years of marriage and were blessed by one child, Misty. They built their life together in Ft. Collins, Colorado, then moved and settled in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Evelyn was a Contract Dispenser for Hoya Safety for many years and enjoyed interacting with her customers. She found great joy in helping with their safety eyewear and making sure they were protected while on the job. Evelyn loved the outdoors. She and David enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and of course the annual "Friends and Family Frickin' Float Trip" (yes, really - that's the name!) This epic trip was always the highlight of her summer. She loved spending time at the water with her family and friends: visiting, sharing stories, laughing and making new memories. She had a special affinity for water though she loved to travel just about anywhere and see different places. Her favorites were Branson, MO, cruising the oceans and visiting any beach. She could sit for hours and run her hands through the sand looking for shells and discovering treasures from the sea. Anyone who knew Evelyn, knew that she was an incredibly kindhearted and fun-loving person who could always bring a smile to your face. It could be one of her witty comments or just a smile and a hug, but she had a way of making people feel welcome, comfortable and accepted. To know Evelyn was to love her, and her absence in this life will be deeply felt by many. Evelyn was the rock of her family and will be missed most of all by her loving husband David Keever, daughter Misty Keever, grandsons Brenton and Dominick, sisters Loretta Brooke and Janette Bright, as well as many other family members and countless "adopted" family members. Evelyn was predeceased by both of her parents and her "baby" brother Kenneth Turner Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date.
