Joseph "Joe" R. Thibodeau

Joseph Richard Estes Thibodeau, age 72, of Bartlesville, Ok. passed peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on April 17, 2026. He left his earthly life to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Joe was a member of Word of Truth Fellowship Church; he was a devoted follower of Christ and looked forward to two things each week; going to church every Sunday and Wednesday and going out to eat after church. Joe was born in OKC on December 31, 1953. Joe worked at AARP in OKC where he started out as a delivery person and worked his way up to supervisor in the Parts department. He truly loved his job till he had his first heart attack at age 33, where he died 8 times and was visited by an angel. Joe was very active on an industrial league softball and soccer teams and was on several bowling leagues, he also loved playing golf. He moved to Bartlesville after his first heart attack to be with his family. Joe survived by one daughter Tara Viles and husband Donald, grandchildren Madison, Skyla, Chance, eight great - grandchildren Gracie, Braylynn, Jase, Wednesday, Odin, Rudy, Paisley, Kyndle. His sister Linda Dewbre and her husband Ron, brother Jerry Thibodeau and his wife Stephanie. His niece Georgetta Ballard, niece Laura Jones and husband Mark, niece Alisha Hailey and husband Robert, niece Amanda Mitchell and husband Morgan, Nephew Jerred Thibodeau and wife Kelly, niece Bridgette Thibodeau niece Rachelle Prieto and husband Isvin, niece Kaitlyn Thibodeau and 19 great niece's and nephew's. Joe is preceded in death by his loving Wife Cherry Thibodeau, Father Gerald Thibodeau, Mother Doris Wood, stepdad Donald Wood, infant sister Mary Anette Thibodeau, sister Kay Zoski brother-in-law Larry Zoski, sister Crystal Thibodeau and brother-in-law Scott Allen, niece Amber, great niece Amelia. He would wear gloves to church and fist bump everyone so not to catch anything. Our Pastor asked him once if Sloppy Joe's offended him during a sermon one Sunday, well after that Joe was known as Sloppy Joe and he loved it. He loved joking and playing games with family and friends. Joe loved texting to family and friends, sending funny videos, emoji's and things about angels. He was very nosey, he would aggravate Georgetta by asking where you are going, who are you going with, when you will be back and what time, or text her what we are eating and tell her his order. Joe fought a good fight, as well as most of you know he should have died at 33, and again 10 years later his second heart attack. The doctors said three years ago he wouldn't make it, but Joe wasn't ready, and as everyone knows never count Joe out. When it came to his time, he gave no warning, he went quickly and peacefully, went to sleep and didn't wake up. Dad, brother, Papa Joe, Uncle Joe and Sloppy Joe we love you and you will be greatly missed. Joe finished his race well. Visitation will be 10-8 p.m. Thursday, April 23rd at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage in Dewey. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 24th at Word of Truth Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Dewey Cemetery.
