Justin Paul Albert

Justin Paul Albert, 27, of Bartlesville, died June 5 in a drowning accident at Copan Lake. Born May 17, 1988 to Jay and Susan Albert in Tulsa, he grew up in Broken Arrow and Bartlesville, graduating from Bartlesville High School in 2007. He briefly attended Northern Oklahoma College in Stillwater. He explored several career options including bus driver, metal finishing and general carpentry, in Tulsa, and assemblyman, in Bartlesville. His hobbies included tattooing, drawing, watching movies, spending time with friends and participating in sports. He loved playing football in school and excelled as linebacker. When “Alumni Football” came to Tulsa one summer, he tried out and earned a spot. His two dogs, Chewy and Skia, were constant companions, and Chewy, a shelter rescue from Stillwater, saw Justin through any low points he experienced. Though life dealt Justin many stumbling blocks, he always picked himself up and pursued another option with faith and good cheer. Friends and family remember him as caring, loyal, artistic and creative with a sense of humor. He will be greatly missed and his passing leaves a huge void within the family. Survivors include his parents, Jay and Susan, of the home; a brother, Braden, of Olathe, Kan.; four aunts, Doris Lowry, of Sapulpa; Bonnie Kelty, of Stillwater; Nancy Partridge, of Tulsa; and Carol Puckett, of Broken Arrow; an uncle, Jim, of San Antonio, Texas; seven cousins and 10 nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Davis Family Funeral Home in Dewey. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Additional visitation time will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
