Martha "Jean" Cantrell

Martha “Jean” Cantrell, 86, of Bartlesville, went home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She will be missed by many, but her family is comforted by their faith that she is rejoicing at being with the Lord, and seeing her beloved parents, husbands and daughter again. Jean was born November 26, 1936, in Cashion, Oklahoma, to Ray and Georgia (Kuhn) Biggs. She graduated from Piedmont High School and attended college for a couple of years. She married Buddy Raetz and worked with him on the family farm. To this union two children were born, Stan and Pamela. Buddy passed away in 1970. The Lord blessed Jean with another wonderful husband, Jerry Cantrell. They were blessed with 50 years of loving marriage. They married in 1971 and were blessed with a son, David. Together they worked on the farm and raised their family. Family was everything to Jean and she truly enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a loving grammy. Jean loved flower gardening and was particularly fond of her yellow hibiscus. After they married, Jean and Jerry attended the First Baptist Church of Hydro faithfully for many years. Jean played the piano and organ, and Jerry was active in the ministries of the church. She started playing the piano for church at age 13 and continued doing that until a few years ago. They raised their children in the church and left them with an amazing heritage of loving the Lord with all their heart and soul. Locally, Jean and Jerry attended Abiding Place, pastored by their son David, and Happy Hill Church. Church was always a priority in her life. Jerry preceded her in death on June 15, 2021. More than anything, Jean loved her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jean will be dearly missed on earth, but she will be rejoicing for eternity. Jean is survived by two sons, Stan Raetz and his wife Mary, and David Cantrell and his wife Roksanne; two brothers, George Biggs and wife Karen, and Earl Biggs and wife Nita; five grandchildren, Logan Sullivan, Hailey (Raetz) Cantrell, Buddy Raetz, Laci Cantrell and Alyssa Cantrell; and a great-granddaughter Parker Cantrell. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Buddy Raetz and Jerry Cantrell; and daughter, Pamela Sue Sullivan. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Happy Hill Church in Ramona, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jack Richey officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
