Ollie May Murphy

Ollie May Murphy, 94, of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Ollie was born on May 24, 1931, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Gilbert “Bert” and Leota (Ralston) Keller. She grew up in Nowata, attending District 55 Grade School and Nowata High School, where she formed lifelong connections and memories that stayed close to her heart. On May 15, 1948, Ollie married her devoted husband, Jim M. Murphy, in Nowata. Together they began their life in Omaha, Nebraska, before returning to the Bartlesville area in 1952, where they built a home filled with love, laughter, and family. Ollie began her career with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1955 as an elevator operator and later worked in Human Resources. After retiring in 1986, she was called back to Phillips and continued working until her final retirement in December 2006, marking an impressive 51 years of dedicated service. Above all, Ollie treasured her family. She loved traveling with Jim, along with cousins Son and Janet Pope, and many other family members and dear friends. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and found great joy in preparing meals and desserts for those she loved—a gift she shared throughout her life. Ollie is survived by her daughters, Connie Cook and husband Ken of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Barbara Harvey and husband Leonard of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Troy Packard and wife Laura, Natasha Smith, Justin Smith, Vicki Bullen and husband Chris, Kent Cook and wife Maureen, Brandon Ford, Tauna Mann and wife Christal, and Alissa Byers and husband Brent; along with many cherished great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Murphy, in 2017; her parents, Bert and Leota Keller; her five brothers, Curtis Lee “Jack,” Ralph, Glen, George, and Earl Keller; and her sisters, Rose Hathcoat and Edith Belt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ollie’s memory to The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 10-8 Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. January 2, 2026, at Davis Family Funeral Home in Dewey, Oklahoma, with the Reverend Dr. Brian Mangan officiating. Burial will follow at Dewey Cemetery.
