Phillip Irvin Valentine

Phillip “Phil” Irvin Valentine, 73, of Dewey, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Bartlesville. Phil, also known as Daddy, Papa, Uncle Sweety, Uncle Phil, Little Brother, Bro, Phil Pil and Partner in Crime, was born September 23, 1950, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Claude Everett and Earline Marie (Cook) Valentine. He is a 1968 graduate of Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa. After high school, Phil worked for public schools before finding his career at the Ford Glass Plant in Broken Arrow, where he worked for more than 20 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. He attended Oklahoma State University in 1969. Phil married the love of his life, Tina Rosamae Smith, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1987, and the couple made their home in Sapulpa. The most important thing in his life was his family. He enjoyed talking and was kind to anyone and everyone. He was a hippie at heart. His hobbies included listening to music, playing cards, farkle, and bowling. He loved watching football and was an Oklahoma State University fan. And Phil wanted to tell everyone, “Now if I don’t meet you no more in this world, I’ll meet you in the next one … and don’t be late,” by Jimi Hendrix. Phil is survived by his wife, Tina; three children, Jamie Valentine and wife Kristy Kelly, Jennifer Valentine, and Robert Valentine and wife Trisha; adopted daughters, Jessica West, and Breanna Valentine; a Columbian son, Mauricio Franco; a sister, Claudette Flora; grandchildren, Phillip Valentine and wife Bailie, Brooklynn Valentine, Payton Valentine, Joseph Valentine and wife Madison, AJ Valentine and Kaylee, Angelina Valentine, Victoria Valentine, Rolan Stone Valentine, Ethan Valentine, Courtney Valentine, Isabellle Sontag, and Kelsey Sontag; great-grandchildren, Blakelee, Annabell, Kamryn, and Everlee. Phil was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marcus Valentine. Phil’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Come and go visitation will also be held that day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the First Church of God in Dewey with Pastor Jerry Hix officiating.
