Richard "Rich" Alan Longo

Richard “Rich” Alan Longo, 59, of Bartlesville, died Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Tulsa, surrounded by his loving family. Richard, or Rich, as he was known to friends, and most importantly Grumpy to his precious grandchildren, was born the son of Joe Longo Sr. and Judy (Weldon) Ferrell on February 25, 1964, in Fontana, CA. He was raised in the Cucamonga area of California and was a surfer and self-proclaimed beach bum in his younger years. He was introduced to his friend’s sister and a relationship soon formed with Kelly Jo Garrison. A few years later the couple moved to Bartlesville, Kelly’s hometown, and they tied the love knot on September 16, 1981. Rich went to work for Yorman’s Nursery before starting his career in hardware. He started at John’s True Value in downtown Bartlesville, moving with the store when Phil relocated it to Eastland Shopping Center, changing the name to Phil’s True Value. When Phil’s closed, Rich had the opportunity to work with True Value Corporate. During this time, he traveled the United States, Bermuda, Grand Caymen and the Bahamas, setting up new True Value Stores. Rich decided to take on the Bahamas store as manager, flying home every third weekend to visit the family. Once he returned home, he worked at Peter’s True Value until recently retiring due to his health. Rich’s passions in life centered around his kids and grandkids. Together with Kelly they took the kids on family vacations to Branson, float trips and big backyard barbeques. He loved OU Football and the OKC Thunder. The grandkids knew where to find him at home. He would be sitting in his man cave, usually sipping on a rum and Pepsi at Grumpy’s Bar. Rich loved life and a good party. He will be dearly missed. Rich is survived by his loving wife of 43 plus years, Kelly; his father, Joe Longo Sr.; his mother, Judy Ferrell; children, Chris (Danya) Longo, Kim Longo, Kevin (Deanna) Longo and Craig (Shelby) Longo; brother, Joe (Espie) Longo Jr.; sister, Cheryl (James) Egan; fourteen grandchildren, Taylor (Bryce) King, Adrianna (Dilen) Gill, Elise Rovenstine (Clay Lemons), Eli Rovenstine, Jaxon Longo, Crew Longo, Doug Longo, Kaston Longo, Kannon Longo, Kyler Longo, Kolt Longo, Maxon Parrett, Rhett Longo and Brooks Longo; three great-grandchildren and two on the way, Paislee, Emily and Brantley; and a host of other family and friends. Rich’s family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, from 6-8 p.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 10-8. Services will be held on Tuesday, at 10 a.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
