Bertha Jean Toalson

August 14, 1932 - August 19, 2021

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, Bertha Jean Bogle Toalson of Ochelata, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 89 and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, sister, extended family and friends. Bertha was born August 14, 1932 to James L. "Dutch" and Gladys B. (Dye) Bogle in Chanute, Kansas. She had two sisters (Helen L. Crow, Betty J. Vincent of Bartlesville) and one brother (George L. Bogle). She was raised in Bartlesville and graduated from Bartlesville High School (Col Hi). On October 30, 1953, she united in a lifelong marriage with David Lee Toalson of Ochelata. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She retired from Caney Valley Elementary after 30-plus years of serving the children of the Caney Valley area with her delicious baked goods. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dave, in 2013; her parents "Dutch" and Gladys Bogle; one sister, Helen Crow; and one brother, George Bogle. She is survived by her three children, David D. Toalson of Collinsville, Terri J. Toalson of Ochelata, Stephen B. and daughter-in-law Lisa Toalson of Ochelata, and always-loved daughter-in-law Sue Toalson of Bartlesville, and one sister, Betty Vincent of Bartlesville. Grandma Bertha will be missed by five granddaughters and their families: Stephanie and Adam Marsheck, Aiden, Noah and Naomi Marsheck of Ochelata; Melissa Stith, Lorelei and Wyatt Stith of Tyler, Texas; Jennifer Grissom, Reese, Lane, and Sawyer Grissom of Ochelata; Amber and Ricky Woods, Preslee, Payton and Jaggar Woods of Piedmont; LeAnna and Mike Henson, Hayes and Adeline Jean Henson of Ochelata, as well as one grandson, Elijah Toalson of Ochelata. She also leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, many extended family members and many lifelong friends. Bertha’s family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, (918-333-7665), 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, OK 74006. All-day visitation will be 10-8 that same day. Funeral services will be held graveside, Thursday, August 26, at 10 a.m. at Ochelata Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Myers officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
