December 15, 1995 - August 17, 2021
Daniel Ambrose Shaffer IV, 25, lifelong area resident, died Tuesday in Bartlesville. Daniel – or Dee as many knew him - was born the son of Daniel Shaffer III and Christal Green on December 15, 1995, in Bartlesville. He grew up locally, graduating from Dewey High School in 2015. Growing up, he always looked forward to spending time in Ralston, OK, with his Aunt Michelle. He loved going to help her at the café, rolling silverware and doing other jobs just to help out. Daniel knew everything about what he was interested in, whether it was the weather, dinosaurs or racing. He was quick to google anything he was fascinated by and loved learning new things. Like many in his family, Daniel loved racing, any type of actual auto racing especially sprint cars or virtual racing and video gaming with his many online friends. He looked forward to hanging out with his buddies at the Caney Valley Speedway or visiting other area speedways. He even shared his superfan enthusiasm by livestreaming videos of the racing action. Everyone loved Daniel and appreciated his laidback kind of style. He had a keen sense of humor and made goofy jokes and friends easily. Some say his true passions in life were spending time with his nieces and nephews and extended family, singing (sometimes off key) and loving everyone around him. Papa Coleman and Daniel had a special relationship: every single time Daniel went fishing at the pond, Papa would remind him “Pick up your beer cans down at the pond.” Dee’s sweet spirit and love spread far and wide, and bub will be dearly missed. Daniel is survived by his parents, father Daniel Ambrose Shaffer III and Sami, mother Christy Ann Green and Billy; paternal grandfather Daniel Shaffer Jr and Wende, paternal grandmother Cheryl Johnson and Andy, paternal great grandmother Joann Coleman, maternal grandfather James Owens Sr. and Tammy, maternal grandmother Carolyn Owens, maternal great grandmother Betty Watkins; as well as four brothers, Dakota Shaffer and Brianna, Christopher Shaffer and Lacey, Jake Green and Nick Green; three sisters Whitney Stull, Chelsey Stull and Samantha Wamego; and a host of other family and friends. Daniel’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12-5 and Monday 9-11. Services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, at the Northpoint Assembly of God, with Rev. Chad DeGonia officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
