Dianne Rosella Shoate

Dianne Rosella Shoate, 81 years young of Bartlesville, passed away January 24, 2022, at her home in Bartlesville, OK. Dianne was born on April 24, 1940, in Bristow, OK, to Roosevelt Adams and Ethel (Smith) Joseph. She grew up in Bristow surrounded by her large family and stayed until her early twenties. Dianne moved to Bartlesville in 1962. She worked in hotel hospitality most of her life and retired from Hotel Phillips after 37 years. Dianne was an active member of the Westside Community Center and a member of the Greater First Baptist church for more than twenty years. She found great joy in working with the youth at church. She loved shopping especially, finding treasures at second-hand stores. Dianne also loved to travel and in her free time, she enjoyed solving Word Search puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Dianne is survived by her son Anthony W. Joseph, daughter Carol L. Hobbs and partner Michael Ballard, son Robert B. Joseph, 6 sisters: Marie Howe Burton and husband Walter, Rosa Dell Sims and husband Chester, Jacqueline Louise Joseph, Vivian Lee Joseph, Doris Jean Joseph and Kathy Denise Adams; 2 brothers: Theodore Roy Joseph, Sr. and his wife Phillis, and Roy Gene Joseph; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dianne was preceded in death by her husband Oma Lee “Peter” Shoate, 1 sister Ida Lorene Lewis, 4 brothers: Curry Joseph, Roosevelt Joseph, Jr., Robert Joseph, Timothy Joseph. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greater First Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Greater First Baptist Church with Reverend Victor Paul, Sr. officiating.
