James "Jim" Franklin Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James “Jim” Franklin Jones was born on April 14, 1941, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Frank and Lena (Allen) Jones. He passed from this life on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at his home in Ramona, Oklahoma, at age 81. Jim was raised and educated in Jay, Oklahoma. He joined the U.S. Army at 17 and actively served for two years. In 1960, he married Phyllis (Spears) Schraad, and they had one child, James Micheal “Mike” Jones, in 1962. Jim was remarried to Judith “Judy” (Cohenour) Jones in 1996 until her death in 2005. In 2007, he married his current wife, Linda Carol (Gee) Jones, and at the time of his death, they had been married for 16 years. Jim was a jack of all trades and worked various careers over his lifetime. In his downtime, Jim loved raising and working cattle, fishing, putting around on his Kubota, and raising his miniature donkeys, mules, and horses. Jim loved spending time with his family on his ranch and pestering his grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lena; his sister, Janice Wilson; his former wife, Judy Jones; his brother-in-law, Gary Armstrong; and his only child, Mike Jones. Jim left behind his wife, Linda Jones of Ramona, Oklahoma; his sister, Judy Armstrong of Grove, Oklahoma; his sister, Jolana and Terry Hughes of Jay, Oklahoma; his grandson, James Martin “Marty” Jones and wife Cyriece Jones; his great-grandson, James McCoy Jones of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Jones; daughter-in-law, Trena Jones of Broken Arrow; his grandson Kyle Cohenour and wife Lindsay Cohenour of Oologah, Oklahoma; and various other step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 10-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 8 at The Truth Baptist Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, with Pastor John T. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
