Penny Elizabeth Wheeler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Penny Elizabeth Wheeler, 62, of Tulsa, died Monday, August 1, 2022, in Tulsa. She was courageous in a long battle with cancer, never giving up hope, and was determined to win! Penny was born the daughter of Joyce and Walter TJ Robertson on March 22, 1960, in Sacramento, California. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri for a while before settling in Bartlesville. Penny met her forever sister, Cheryl, when they were teenagers and they have remained lifelong friends and sisters. It was 25 years ago when Penny met Scott at Shoot’s Bar in Tulsa and they have been together ever since. They dated for five years before tying the love knot 20 years ago on August 31, 2002. They made their home in Tulsa and Scott became a father to Penny’s daughter Nicole. For the past 8 years Penny worked for MSC Industrial Supply, where she enjoyed new friendships with co-workers and customers. Penny’s passion was her daughter and granddaughters. They spent countless hours shopping and having fun, watching Penny indulge her love for purses and clothes. They enjoyed girl time and their manicures and pedicures together. Her collection of purses was extensive, and she had one for every occasion. She loved the sun and tanning with her sister Cheryl in their younger years covered in Crisco and pulling the family TV outside for entertainment while working on their tans. Together with Scott the couple enjoyed camping weekends at the lake. Most recently they were homebodies preferring to spend time talking and hanging out. Penny was loved and loved all those around her. She will be dearly missed. Penny is survived by her loving husband, Scott Wheeler; daughter, Nicole Garcia and her husband Jesus “Jessie;” her sister, Cheryl Bishop; and two granddaughters, Samara Garcia and Sienna Garcia. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11-2 at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. on Friday at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
