January 10, 1946 - September 27, 2019
Rosene Ratliff, 73, went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 27, 2019. Bartlesville was her hometown where she was born and raised, and where she returned in order to be nearer to her siblings, extended family, and childhood friends. Rosene was born the daughter of Roosevelt and Clara (Turner) Adair in Bartlesville on January 10, 1946. From a young age Rosene accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and grew up in the Church of God in Christ. She received her education in Bartlesville graduating from College High in 1964. She met Marquis L. Ratliff while he was home in transit to school in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. They quickly fell in love and united in marriage. During his military service the family lived in various places including California, Germany twice, Hawaii and Maryland where Marquis retired. Once Marquis retired from active duty, they relocated to Sierra Vista, AZ. In 2012, Rosene moved back to Bartlesville to be closer to family and friends. Rosene loved the Lord and was a member of the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ. Her passions included spending time with family, good conversation, BINGO, going to garage sales or auctions, which drove her passion of “collecting things” like Beanie Babies and dolls. She loved antiques and the stories that were associated with them. Gardening outdoors came naturally to her. She loved travelling with the Grayson’s. Rosene was always ready to help her friends and to share what she had with them. If Rosene called you a friend, she meant it. She would give you her last dollar if that was what you needed. If she couldn’t give you everything you needed she would search far and wide to help. To be a friend of Rosene, meant more than just that…you were family. Over the past few years, Rosene dedicated much of her time to serving in her community and organizations such as the Westside Community Center and the Citizens for Positive Change. She volunteered for the funeral dinners in Bartlesville, worked with the children at the Westside Community Center, and was on the Douglassiares 2015 and 2018 Planning Committee Board. She will be dearly missed and will always be loved by those that knew her. Rosene is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Marquis L. Ratliff Sr. of Sierra Vista, AZ; two children, Andrea “Angie” Nunez (daughter) of El Paso, TX, and Victor Ratliff (son) and Charlene of Stanley, ND; one brother Everett T. Adair and Suzie of Bartlesville; two sisters, Ruth (Adair) Nash of Bartlesville, and Maude (Adair) White and Roscoe of Bartlesville; nine grandchildren, Cassandra “Cassie” Nunez, Jasmine Nunez, Alicia Rust, Joseph Morin, Natasha Ramos, Marcel “MJ” Ratliff, US Army Staff Sergeant Andre Ratliff, Dominique Acfalle, and Kaili Ratliff; and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Marcell “Buddy” L. Ratliff and six siblings, Clinton Adair, Eddie Lee Adair, Robert E. Adair, Donald J. Adair, Theodore Adair and Ida Mae Adair Taylor. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019, at the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ. Interment will follow in the White Rose Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
