October 27, 1971 - June 15, 2022
Wendy Rae Fox, 50, of Dewey, died Wednesday in Bartlesville. Wendy was born the daughter of Wendell Ray and Carol Jane (Kahle) Price on Oct. 27, 1971, in Woodstock, Illinois. Her father was serving in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Virginia. The family then went on to live in Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, and then eventually settled in Caney, KS. Wendy was active in school activities and clubs and was a cheerleader. From a young age she was a leader and was always moving forward. During her jr. and sr. years of high school she attended beauty college in Coffeyville, graduating from Caney Valley High School in 1990. Wendy married Jay Dee Nunneley and two beautiful children were born Mercades and Jakob. She was an excellent mother who worked hard as a cosmetologist at first, waitress at Eggberts, and then to surgical technician school. She enjoyed working at Jane Phillips Medical Center for 18 years before retiring due to health issues. Wendy loved her job and co-workers. In 2008 at the famous Chili Bowl race in Tulsa, Wendy met Jessie Fox, hit it off and soon they were inseparable, enjoying the last 14 years together. Family was everything and Wendy was active in her children’s activities. She coached cheer and dance in Caney, was a fierce advocate for her kids and grandkids, and enjoyed taking her grandkids everywhere. Gift giving was her passion, she was always prepared with something special for every occasion – including her Father’s Day gifts lined up and ready to go for this coming weekend. After family, she was a little too passionate about animals - first dogs, Huskies and in between, goats that multiplied and even a three legged horse who roams the acreage. Wendy will be remembered for her feisty love for everyone around her. She blazed her own trail and will be dearly missed. Wendy is survived by her husband Jessie Fox; children Mercades (Brett) Monge and Jakob Price; parents Wendell and Carol Price; grandchildren Leander Monge, Rylan Ellis and Brynleigh Price; sister Melissa (Mark) Frye; nephew Evan; niece Darienne and a host of friends and animals. Wendy’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Monday, 6-8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Monday, 10-8. Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Dewey Christian Church. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
