Ann Marie Brower

Ann Marie Brower, 74, of Copan, went to meet her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Ann was born on December 16, 1948, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Dea Daniel and Louetta (Eads) Pollard. She attended school in Pittsburg, graduating high school there in 1966. Following high school, Ann worked as a nurse’s aide at Mt. Carmel Hospital. She married the love of her life, Richard W. Brower, on August 26, 1967, and became a homemaker soon thereafter. They lived in Kansas, California, and then Oklahoma in 1974, finally settling in Copan. Family was always Ann’s priority, and her family has many fond memories of her caring for them. Ann attended all the events for her children. She served as chaperone and was the mom of the neighborhood. Her children recall Ann’s late-night shopping shenanigans at Walmart and taking walks in the dark around their block. Her children could always count on her to sit and pray with them or soothe their feelings after a hard day. Ann was an active member of the Copan United Methodist Church since 1979. She was a devout Christian and a servant, always helping those in need. She enjoyed singing on stage at church and faithfully served as a prayer warrior. She also sang in the group Sweet Adelines and had a beautiful voice. Ann loved vacations and sight-seeing, taking bus trips and visiting family. Her children have fond memories of singing songs during car rides. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and other events. One of her hobbies was shopping for antiques, collectibles, especially Beanie Babies, Precious Moments, and jewelry. She is survived by her husband, Rick Brower; her children, Robin Hayes and husband Gabe, Dr. Chris Brower and wife Joelle, and Carrie Baker and husband Joey; a sister, Linda Richardson; and grandchildren, Erin Hayes, Estelle Brower, Andrew Brower, Bobby Baker, Zoey Baker and Will Baker. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Dea Daniel Pollard and Louetta (Eads) Grimes; her stepfather, Jim Grimes; and a sister, Dorothy McInturff. Ann’s family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10-8. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at Copan United Methodist Church with Reverend Warren Peck officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
