Betty Lou Marshall

Mrs. Robert (Betty) Marshall passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Dewey, Oklahoma. She was born in Neosho County, near Erie, Kansas, on a farm to William Robert Walker and Mina Beatrice Watkins on December 30, 1926. She was raised in Neosho County, attended rural school and graduated from Erie High School in 1944. Betty and Robert “Bob” Marshall were united in marriage on December 25, 1948. To this union four children were born, Steven Robert, Susan Marie, Scott Wayne and Samuel Lee. They moved to Dewey, Oklahoma, in 1956. Betty served as Den Mother for Boy Scouts, Den Mother Coach for Boys Scouts, was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader, Served as Secretary & Treasurer as well as crocheted several afghans for fund raising events for DAV. She loved gathering information about her Family Roots as well as her Husbands and helping others with theirs, so spent many hours on her computer gathering information and visiting with Friends and Relative on Face Book. In the Spring she planted flowers in her Hanging Baskets and Planters in their yard while sitting in her wheelchair. Winter months she enjoyed making Beaded Christmas Ornaments for family and friends. Her parents preceded her in death as did her sister Billie and brother-in-law Leroy Runer. She is survived by her husband Robert; children, Steven and his wife Sandra Marshall, Susan Marshall, Scott and his wife Teressa Marshall and Samuel Marshall; grandchildren, Scott II and wife Sarahbeth Marshall, Stacy and husband Brandon Wosel, Sheila Howard, Sabrina and Husband Allen Purkey and Jacob Marshall; great-grandchildren, Alexander "Xander" Marshall Howard, Jared Allen Purkey, Lucas “Luke” Dale Purkey, Austin Jaxson "A. J" Kayton Marshall, Kamren Lee Wosel. and Charles Robert Wosel; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10-8 on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 300 E. Angus Ave., Dewey, OK 74029. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Dewey Cemetery with Chris Hester officiating.
