Mr. Bradley Scott Magana

Bradley Scott Magana, 50, of Bartlesville, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of Sunday morning at Oologah Lake. Brad was born the son of Raymond and Symelda (Redmon) Magana on October 25, 1963, in Tulsa. He was raised and educated in Bartlesville, graduating from Sooner High in 1982. As a young man he worked the oil fields in numerous counties. He was also employed over the years at Kelly Lawn and Garden (John Deere), B&C Automotive and the City of Bartlesville before starting his career with ABB Inc. Brad recently retired (due to ongoing health issues) from ABB after 10 years of employment in its manufacturing department. Brad was united in marriage with Sonya Kay Perrigo on July 1, 1989, and to this union a son was born, Joshua Scott Magana on November 11, 1994. Brad was a member of the Bartlesville Police Reserve in previous years and made many lasting friendships. Brad loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He and Sonya were looking forward to celebrating their upcoming 25th wedding anniversary at the Grand Canyon. Brad recently purchased a sail boat and over the past year he taught himself how to sail on Oologah Lake. He and Sonya loved spending time on the boat sailing, spending the night or just feeding the ducks and geese that always came to call. Brads great love for animals was always evident when it came to his loyal and loving corgi Bandit a.k.a. Mr. B. Brad is survived by his loving wife Sonya Kay Magana of the home; one son Joshua Scott Magana of Bartlesville; one godson J.P. Hicks of Dewey; father Raymond Magana of Bartlesville; three uncles Ron Werts, Cecil Magana and Carl Magana, all of Bartlesville; a number of children who meant the world to him, and a host of other family and friends. Brad will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his mother. Brad’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Wed., May 21, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the March of Dimes, attn: Roxanne Minnick, 6202 S. Lewis Suite I, Tulsa, OK 74136. Celebration of Life services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in the Chapel of the Davis Family Funeral Home with clergy Steve Griffith officiating.
