Cassandra Ann Blount

Cassandra Ann Blount, 35, of Bartlesville, began her heavenly adventure on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Cassandra was born June 23, 1989, in Bartlesville, to Kent and Julie (Wastlund) Blount. She attended Bartlesville Public Schools, where she developed her deep love of music, singing, and performing arts. She was in the Bartlesville High School Band and enjoyed the choir program. She was so very talented and was happy to be a member of various Honors Choirs, including Circle the State with Song, District Honor Choir and multiple others. In her younger years, she was a member of the Possibility People Choir at Bartlesville’s First Wesleyan Church. She also performed in several Children’s Musical Theater productions through the years and with Bartlesville Theater Guild’s “The King and I.” Cassandra’s talent with music eventually led her to becoming worship leader at Bartlesville First Church. Always an adventurer at heart, Cassandra shared many outdoor adventures with her mother, family and dear friends. Her mother Julie was always a ready and willing “adventure buddy.” They enjoyed numerous nights of camping, rockhounding, and kayaking, with special memories of kayaking during the eclipse, nighttime kayaking at Twin Bridges, and rockhounding at the Salt Plains and at the Ron Coleman Mine. Julie also went repelling with Cassandra at Robber’s Cave State Park last year in April. In addition, the family share memories of going on cruises and even attending the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, a highlight for Cassandra because she got to miss two weeks of middle school to attend. Cassandra started her career as a cosmetologist right out of high school, having graduated from Tri County Technology Center’s cosmetology program the same year she graduated from Bartlesville High School in 2008. Cassandra was passionate about her career and enjoyed taking her creativity to the next level with beautiful cuts, colors and styles. Her most recent salon was Allure, but her past salons were at Regis, Master Cuts, Walmart’s salon, JCPenney’s Salon, and Gail’s. Cassandra had also attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University and more recently earned her associate’s degree. Cassandra loved sharing in her adventures and will always be remembered for her big, brave heart. She dearly loved her two dogs, Winston Charles and Penelope Sue; and cat, Hamilton. Cassandra was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Anastasia Grace. Survivors include her parents, Kent and Julie Blount; her maternal grandmother, Shirl Wastlund; brothers, Michael (Kym Gibson) Blount, and Brandon (Lesley) Blount; sister, Sophia (Rowan) South; niece, Zoey; three nephews, Cayden, Oliver and Elliott; and a host of other family and friends. Cassandra’s family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665. Visitation will also be held that same day from noon-5 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, also at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, with Reverend Greg Tener officiating.
