Donald Kent White

Donald Kent White, 79, of Bartlesville, died on Friday 2/7/25. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a child of God now rejoicing in heaven forever! Don was born the son of Chester Franklin and Mary Ethel (Horne) White on August 1, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri. Don grew up in Piedmont, Missouri and enjoyed spending time with his friends playing sports, games, and collecting baseball cards. He graduated from Clearwater High School in 1963 and from Southeast Missouri State University in 1967. Don was stationed at Ent Air Force Base in Colorado Springs when he met Linda Scott. They quickly fell in love and married on July 31, 1971. Soon after getting married they moved to Joplin, Missouri, for a year before settling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Don and Linda had two boys, Kent & Ben. Don enjoyed coaching the boys sports teams when they were young, and then attending their activities as they grew older. He worked for the United States Postal Service as an accountant for most of his career. What was he like? Don accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a young age. His love for the Lord flowed through him to others. He was a man of integrity, generosity, servanthood, and incredibly caring for the needs of others. He had a great sense of humor and always seemed to find a way to make people laugh. Don & Linda were very involved with their church family at Linwood Wesleyan in Sioux Falls, South Dakota serving and attending Bible fellowship groups. Don and Linda, the woman God blessed him with, enjoyed spending time together going for walks, hiking, exercising, reading, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and spending time with friends. Some of their most cherished moments were spending time with their grandkids. His name was “Papa” to them. The couple spent countless hours with them and loved every minute of it. Laughing and teasing between Papa and his grandkids was contagious. Papa’s love for Jesus was his highest priority, and he desired for others to know and love the Savior! Don is survived by his two sons Kent (Holly) White and Ben White; grandchildren, Kylie, Drew, Trey, Kori, and three granddaughters from Ben. He is preceded in death by his wife Linda, parents (Chester & Ethel) and brother Phil. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory Walker-Brown Chapel.
