Jonathan Arden Shields, 40, of Bartlesville died Thursday in Bartlesville. Jonathan Arden Shields (Jon-Boy) entered this realm on September 25th, 1983 at DavisMonthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. He left this realm on January 11th, 2024 at his home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He’s preceded in death by his Grandpa and Grandma Shields, Nanny and Papa Blizzard, and stepfather Doc Valdez. He leaves behind his mother Christine Valdez, father and stepmother Joe and Stephanie Shields, sisters, Jessica Radebaugh (Trent), Sydney Shields (Aaron), and Amanda Valdez, fiancé Christina Hamilton and daughter Abby Armstrong, along with aunt Suzette Williamson (Mike), aunt Jo Hilberg (Jon), aunt Cheryl Fischer, and cousins Becca Gonzalez-Miller (Andy) and Catherine Fischer and numerous other relatives and loved ones. Jonathan grew up living in Arizona, Virginia, and Texas, graduating high school in Elgin, TX in 2002. In his adult years, he settled in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. He was known by his loved ones as the life of the party, always equipped with a fantastical story about his travels. Jon loved laughing, wrestling, cooking, and spicy food - wings, specifically - and had a passion for burning people’s mouths with seed-in-jalapeno poppers. Throughout childhood, Jon enjoyed practicing wrestling moves on his little sisters, listening to music, and making people laugh. Jon’s tough exterior was only known by strangers, as those who loved him knew he had a gigantic heart, and loved deeply. Specifically, he loved his Gram, beloved dog Roscoe, and the Denver Broncos, among many other people and things. His absence has and will leave a large hole in all of his loved ones hearts. But we remember the stories, laughs, and good times and will share for years to come. Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at Crossing 2nd., Restaurant, 215 E. 2nd Street, Bartlesville.
