Kim Marie Rollins Vargas

Kim Marie Rollins Vargas, 55, of Dewey died Saturday in Dewey. Kim was born the daughter of John and Paulette (Dean) Guest on March 30, 1960, in Yale, OK. She was raised in Edmond, OK, and lived briefly in California before returning to Edmond where she attended High School. Kim moved to Bartlesville with her husband Steve Henry and started her family with the birth of Justin. She married Brian Saltzman in 1984 and Lacy was born. Kim’s third child Kelcie was born while she was in a relationship with Ron Chambers. In 1993 Kim married Johnny Rollins, and Jared and Jessie were born. She was unlucky in love until 2000 when she meet the love of her life Esteban Vargas. Through him she realized her love for the Lord and was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Church. Kim and Esteban were united in marriage on June 7, 2003. Kim had many passions in life. When she was younger, Kim excelled at barrel racing and won many belt buckles and a saddle. During her youth she was active in coed softball, dance and gymnastics. She was a writer who loved romance and was writing a love story about her love with Esteban entitled “The King and I.” She also penned many of her reflections on life and love. As a tangible sign of her love for Christ, she volunteered her time and talents at the Salvation Army. More often than not, Kim opened her heart and arms to others by taking in friends who needed the safety and security of a loving home. To Kim, they were not just neighbors she was called to care for, but members of her extended family. But most of all Kim loved and cherished her own children and grandchildren, and she was active in their lives. Kim is survived by her husband Esteban Vargas; five children, Justin Henry and Angela of Dewey, Lacy Carpenter and Mike of Bartlesville, Kelcie Chambers of Tulsa, Jarred Rollins and Katie of Tahlequah, and Jesse Rollins of Dewey; her father John Guest and Terri of Bartlesville; two sisters Lynn Guest of Cincinnati, OH, and Kelly Hensley and Scott of Bartlesville; two brothers Matt Scott and Stacey of Bartlesville, and Landon John of Caney; and eight beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Mathew, Dakota, Jaden, Johnny, Jackson, Arabella and Levi. She is preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9am to 8pm at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75). A rosary will be said on Thursday at 7pm, in the Davis Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held Friday at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery.
