Linda Lue Sharpton

Linda Lue Sharpton, 79, of Dewey, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Bartlesville. Linda was born on September 30, 1946, in Bartlesville, to Walter and Nadine (Sloan) Bowen. She attended Dewey Public Schools, graduating from Dewey High School in 1964. After high school, Linda started a family with Charles “Butch” Moorehead in 1967 and then later with Billy Don Gillman in the mid-’70s. To those unions, five children were born, Brett Moorehead, Lance Moorehead, Matt Gillman, Casey Gillman, and Dusty Gillman. On June 28, 1995, Linda married Joseph “Henry” Sharpton and then two more children were added to the family, Matthew Sharpton and Hailey Lawrie. In the early 1980s, Linda was employed as a social services director with Medicalodges of Dewey and then Silverlake Nursing Home. She retired in 2006 and returned to being a homemaker, so she could stay home with the youngest of their children. Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother and a wonderful homemaker. She adored her family and loved taking care of people. She enjoyed her dogs, Ozzy, Cindy, and Murphy; and her cat, Shadow. Linda was a homebody and loved Chinese and Mexican food. Her cooking was outstanding! Her family jokingly said Linda knew 1,001 ways to cook chicken. Whenever someone asked, “What’s for dinner?”, they always knew the answer was going to be chicken in some form or fashion. Linda was a member of St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Joseph “Henry” Sharpton; seven children, Brett Moorehead, Lance Moorehead, Matt Gillman, Casey Gillman and wife LuMi, Dusty Gillman, Matthew Sharpton and wife Abbie, and Hailey Lawrie; seven grandchildren, Summer, Kyler, Mena, Ami, Maya, Dusty, and Lilly; and numerous other extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel with the Reverend Randy Little officiating. Burial will follow at Dewey Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Brett Moorehead, Lance Moorehead, Matthew Sharpton, Micah Stroud, Zach Shambles, and Jonathan Sharpton.
