Michael Eugene Hefner

Michael Eugene Hefner, 65, of Bartlesville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning February 5th. He was born the son of Eugene Hefner and Virginia Hefner Markley on October 27, 1946, in Oklahoma City. He was raised in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School in 1964. Mike attended Central State College (UCO) and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1970. He was united in marriage with Janice Marie deCordova on April 30, 1966. Mike worked for Phillips Petroleum as a credit analyst and at NIPER and ASEC Manufacturing as a purchasing agent. He always worked hard and was willing to sacrifice to provide for his family. Mike loved the Lord and served his local church as a Deacon for many years. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren and loved them dearly. It was easy to make friends with Mike, and he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a beloved son, a generous man, and a man of integrity who was always willing to help anyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mike is survived by his loving wife Janice Hefner; his mother Virginia Markley of Midwest City; three children, Julie Roll and her husband Mike of Fairplay, CO, Janelle Barham and her husband Brian of Joplin, MO, and Steve Hefner and his wife Tiffany of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren, Tanner Hefner, Jana Barham, Jeana Barham and Hadley McKenna Hefner. He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Hefner. His family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, (918-534-3030), 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 SE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006, or to the Wesleyan Christian School Endowment Fund, 1776 SE Silver Lake Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006. Funeral services for Mr. Hefner will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church. Dr. Don Coleman and Pastor Jonathan Dirrim of Highland Park Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services will be held in Oklahoma City on Thursday, 4 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Highland Park Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Family Funeral Home.
