Murline (Jones)(Buford)White

Mary Ellen Murline (Jones) (Buford) White, 86, longtime Bartlesville resident, passed away at Adams Parc Care Center on Thursday, January 19, 2012. The family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, (918-534-3030), 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, January 22, 2012, from 2-4 pm. Honorary pallbearers include Brian Buford, Terry Parker, Gary Smith, Scott Bradley, Kevin Buford, Garrett Payton, Clayton Bradley and Nory Asbury. Graveside services for Ms. White will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev Jacky J. Payton of Collinsville, OK, will be the officiant. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Family Funeral Home. Murline White was born on February 20, 1926, in Bakersfield, CA, to George and Annette (Osborne) Jones where her father worked in the oil fields. At age one, the family moved to Prescott, MO, to work on the family farm. When she was 10, the Jones family moved to Bartlesville where she was reared and received her education in the Bartlesville school system. Murline worked for the Bartlesville school system for many years before returning to being a homemaker. She enjoyed doing crafts and ceramics, and visiting with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted and extremely loving mother. Murline and George Arthur Buford were married in Bartlesville on February 11, 1944, and they made their home here. George preceded her in death on June 24, 1972. Murline and Glen D. White were married on March 8, 1973, and they made their home living in retirement here. Glen preceded her in death on December 5, 1981. Surviving are her children Robert (Bob) Arthur Buford and his wife Mary Jo, Frank Jack Buford and his wife Donna, Bill Dewayne Buford and his wife Jean, Opal Annette Parker and her husband Terry, and Rosetta Marie Bradley and her husband Gary; grandchildren Brian Buford, Kevin Buford, Lance Johnson, Tracey Still, Kim Smith, Terry Parker, Misty Asbury, Marie Payton, Scott Bradley; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel "Pug" Howell, formerly of Dewey and currently of Harrah, OK, Florence Lorenz and husband Raymond of Bartlesville, and Lucy Shull and her husband Johnny of the Hulah Lake community, as well as a sister-in-law, Louise Gelwick and her husband Duane of Dewey. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Frank Jack Jones and John Robert Jones. In lieu of flowers the family would like any donations to go to Rivercross Hospice at 4150 100th E Ave., Tulsa, OK 74146.
