Patrick "Chuck" Charles Ellis

Patrick “Chuck” Charles Ellis, 78, of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home. Chuck was born August 29, 1944, in Amarillo, Texas, to William “Bill” and Ethel (Schreck) Ellis. After Bill’s death, Ethel married Eugene Franks and Chuck gained a loving stepfather. Chuck left school at a young age to work and support his mother, but he later earned his GED. The family had moved from Amarillo to Oklahoma City. Chuck met the love of his life, Ruby Faye Tuttle, in February 1984, and the couple fell head over heals in love. They married a short month later, on March 7, 1984, and were soulmates ever since then. The couple moved to Oak Park and then to Dewey. They loved being together all the time. Chuck began his employment with Reda Pump in 1967 and retired from there in 1990. Chuck and Ruby enjoyed traveling and having coffee with friends. They would sometimes climb in the car and take off, ending up wherever the road took them, whether it be Texas, Kansas, or Arkansas. A jack of all trades, Chuck was a hard-working and talented handyman. His hobbies include working on tractors. He was a longtime member of the Green County Antique Power Association and served as vice president for 2 years. His family have fond memories of him working on tractors and around the house. Whether it be setting his overalls on fire or cutting through power cables, he made life interesting and fun. It was never a dull moment. Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family dearly adored Papa Chuck and he will live on forever in their hearts. Survivors include his loving wife, Ruby; three daughters, Regina Boatright and husband Rusty Waymack, Denise Ellis, and Jona Johnson and husband Cliff; two sisters, Patricia Walker, and Faye Sanders and husband Kenneth; two lifelong friends, Billy Crabtree and Ron Wolhford; 10 grandchildren, Summer, Hope, Heaven, Clifford, Joshua, Tristen, Brady, Blake, Shane, and Brandon; and 16 great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Ethel (Schreck) Ellis; his stepfather, Eugene Franks; his daughter, Angela Ellis; his grandchild, Baby Leslie; and three brothers, Donald Ellis, James “Jimmy” Ellis, and Billy Ellis. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage Ave. (Hwy 75), Dewey, OK 74029. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday and a Rosary will be led by Father John O'Neil at 7 p.m., in the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Teresa Brown officiating.
