Teresa Maria (Cooper) Dodson

Teresa Maria Cooper Dodson died Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Bartlesville, OK. She was born on November 30, 1946, to William G. and Colleen Phillips Cooper in Ponca City OK. She attended Pleasant View School, East Junior High, and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1965. Teresa graduated from NOC in 1968 and Northwestern State University in Alva, OK in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Teresa taught gym in Clarksville, Missouri for 4 years grades 1-8. She moved back to Ponca City to begin her working career. She worked various jobs and retired from Air Systems Components in 1999. She received her AIT training for nursing homes in 1999. Teresa married Jerry Dodson on December 23, 1982. She had one stepson, Sam and wife Whitney, and step-grandson Jude Dodson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She is survived by brothers, Chris Cooper and wife Carrie, Bartlesville, OK, and Bill Cooper and wife Sharon of Northlake, TX, nieces and nephews: Tony Cooper (Julie), Jennifer Richmond, Andy Cooper (Carrie), Christy Olivas, Clay Cooper (Ziva). Great nieces and nephews: Caden Cooper, Ty Cooper, Ava Richmond, Clara Olivas, Levi Olivas, Sophia Cooper, Cliff Cooper, and Lucy Cooper. Teresa was an avid bowler, attending many state and national tournaments. She loved to travel and going to Las Vegas for years. She played softball with various city leagues. Teresa loved going to garage sales, estate sales, and flea markets. She collected red glass and clowns. She loved hearing and telling jokes, no matter, if it was good or bad. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxilery in Ponca City. She was, also, active in the Ponca City Alzhiemer’s Group. She loved dogs. Her favorites were Paula, Buster, and Milo. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and brother Robin. Memorials can be sent to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma Event Center, 445 Fairview Avenue, Ponca City, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd and visitation will also be that same day from noon-5 p.m. at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 s. Osage, Dewey, OK 74029. Funeral services will be Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1:00 at the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma Event Center, 445 Fairview Avenue, Ponca City, OK. Interment will follow at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Ponca City. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel.
